Résumé
There is no right or wrong style for any résumé. What
needs to be checked more so than anything is that you
have no language and spelling errors. What's being
checked for is whether or not the applicant is paying
attention. That is the only important rule.
Having said that, despite what employment service
professionals say, the significance of your résumé is
not so important (at this time) as they would have you to
think. Most jobs, even in the service sector (fast food
restaurants, retail, recreation, etc) are being offered
based on what I coin the "hook up" connection.
The "hook up" connection is when a job is reserved for
out-of-work friends and family or the friends and
families of friends and families of current employees.
Interesting enough, race would play a secondary role in
this nuance.
This is not to discourage in the least. However, one
should be mindful that this dynamic is at play in this
dismal economy. Thus, it really does not matter who
you are, employers want who they want is the bottom
line.
